Mindfulness in Libraries

$175.004-week, asynchronous online course, offered through Library Juice Academy, for library staff of all levels and types.
The scientific research on mindfulness is in and it is remarkable. Through simply making time in our lives to pay attention, on purpose, and without judgement (practicing mindfulness), we can actually change our brains in ways that reduce stress and replace our tendency toward worry, stress, fear, anger, depression, and anxiety with flexibility, calm, self-regulation, informed decision-making, peace, and happiness. This workshop introduces participants to the science of mindfulness, specifically exploring ways in which mindfulness can support library work. To get the most benefit, participants should plan to dedicate a minimum of 5-10 minutes per day engaging in the various mindfulness practices presented in the workshop.
